Antique Electric
RADIOPTICAN
Postcard Viewer/Spot Light

$75
This type of early 1900s electric projector was used to project postcards on a wall or screen when entertaining.

This projector was built by the H.C. White Co., Bennington VT.
The two removable chimneys on top are a holdover from a time when two natural gas burners were used in the interior for illumination. This allowed the heat to escape. This one was made for two electric incandescent light sockets instead. Easy-to-find bulbs are not included.
This one has the most attractive overall aged look that I've seen but, sadly, some artist has altered it to essentially turn it into an antiquey-looking spot light.

The light bulb socket, above, as seen through the open back, is a later addition and now projects light straight through the lenses.

This is what the spotlight beam looks like from illuminating a ten-inch high bust from only about two feet away. The second, broader and more diffuse, beam is with the front lens removed. (The bust is available for $55)

Bottom view. Removing the improvised light socket, and rewiring the original sockets with the same cord would involve removing these to screws on the bottom, opening it up, and performing the rewiring. Working Radiopticans retail for up to $300.
This one, however, is being sold "As Is", as a
kitschy decor item, for only $75.
These items could be shipped worldwide for the appropriate S&H fees.
